Oil and gas operations live or die on procedure. P&IDs, isolation sequences, permit to work, HAZOP records, OEM manuals across decades of brownfield equipment – every safe shift depends on the right document being in the right hand at the right second. Today, that document is usually in a binder, on a stretched satellite link, or three deck levels away from the alarm. In a hazardous area, in a storm, on a lone-worker shift, that distance is the hazard.
